N.Y. Food Association Names Rosen President
ALBANY, N.Y. — Following a three-month search, the Food Industry Alliance of New York State on Monday said it has named Michael Rosen president and chief executive officer.

ALBANY, N.Y. — Following a three-month search, the Food Industry Alliance of New York State on Monday said it has named Michael Rosen president and chief executive officer.
Rosen, FIA’s current senior vice president of government relations and general counsel, will succeed Jim Rogers, who recently announced his retirement after 26 years as FIA president and CEO. Rosen will assume the position of president effective Feb. 1, 2014.

According to FIA Chairman Mitch Klein, vice president of retail services and government relations for Krasdale Foods, “As FIA president, Michael brings to his new role a reputation of extraordinary service to the membership and grocery industry of New York state. Over his 27 years with FIA, he consistently has shown a high level of professionalism and acumen, which has earned him the respect of [New York state] lawmakers and government officials. Indeed, FIA is fortunate to have his talents and abilities as the next president.”

As FIA retiring president, Rogers said, “Unequivocally, the Selection Committee has made the correct decision to promote Michael to president. Michael and I have worked closely together for over a quarter century. His integrity, intellect, decision-making, and work ethic continually have proven to be at the highest level.”
Prior to joining FIA, Rosen was counsel to Sen. Joseph Bruno, the immediate past State Senate Majority Leader. As the Senator’s counsel, he also was counsel to the standing Senate Committees on Consumer Protection and Insurance.
