CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Nash Finch Co. plans to close its distribution center here by year-end, a spokeswoman for the wholesaler told SN on Monday.

According to local reports, Minneapolis-based Nash Finch said late last week that it planned to transition customers of the 358,500-square-foot facility to other Nash Finch warehouses in Omaha, Neb., and St. Cloud, Minn.

"Combining the volume handled by Cedar Rapids into the other distribution centers will allow for increased efficiency and additional product selection for our Cedar Rapids customers," Nash Finch was quoted as telling local TV station KCRG.
