LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix Super Markets has raised nearly $155,000 through a six-week Food For All program, in which customers were offered the opportunity to select $1, $3 or $5 donation coupons at the register. Nine local nonprofit agencies received funding from the program: the Agape Food Bank, America's Second Harvest of Tampa Bay, The Salvation Army of Hillsborough County, All Faiths Food Bank, Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Mayor's Feed the Hungry Program, Meals on Wheels Plus, Suncoast Food Bank and Volunteer Way. “Food For All allows us to give back to worthy community-based organizations that support anti-hunger strategies,” said Shannon Patten, media and community relations manager for Publix Super Markets. “Since it began partnering with Food For All in 1998, Publix Lakeland has raised nearly $2.7 million for local nonprofit beneficiaries.” For more information, visit foodforall.org.
