LAKELAND, Fla. — Four Publix Super Markets store managers and one support associate have received the 2012 George W. Jenkins Award, the company's highest honor, named for the chain's late founder.
Winners are Gary Bouton, manager of a store in the chain's Jacksonville division; Keith Critelli, Miami division; Keith Everett, Atlanta division; David Tapia, Lakeland division; and Jane Pixley, business development director of bakery.
The Jenkins award is given annually to one manager in each of the chain's retail divisions and one support-area employee, based on criteria that include gross profit, net profit, sales, safety, productivity and meeting or exceeding company goals, the company said; candidates must also demonstrate overall leadership abilities, self-development, training and promotion of others and community involvement, it added.
Publix, based here, also presented its 2012 President's Award to four district managers and one support manager: John Campbell, district manager in the Lakeland division; Bob Pendleton, Atlanta division; Diane Schlachter, Miami division; Chad Wilson, Jacksonville division; and Marcy Benton, director of retail associate relations. Pendleton previously received the same award in 2007 when he was a district manager in the Miami division.
