Robbins Leaves Save Mart as Albertsons Deal Closes

MODESTO, Calif. -- Save Mart Supermarkets here said that Donna Robbins, the former president of the Northern California division of Albertsons LLC, has decided to leave after Save Mart completed its acquisition of those stores Friday.

MODESTO, Calif. -- Save Mart Supermarkets here said that Donna Robbins, the former president of the Northern California division of Albertsons LLC, has decided to leave after Save Mart completed its acquisition of those stores Friday. Steve Junqueiro, vice president of Save Mart operations, will coordinate the transition of the stores to Save Mart with oversight from Bob Spengler, president and chief operating officer, and Bob Piccinini, chairman and chief executive officer. As previously reported, Save Mart acquired 130 Albertsons stores in Northern California and northern Nevada, along with distribution centers in Roseville and Vacaville, Calif., and the division office in Dublin, Calif. Save Mart's purchase will grow the chain to 254 retail stores. Save Mart will gradually convert all the Albertsons stores over the next nine months.
