Sam’s Club Cutting Jobs in Restructuring

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores here acknowledged Thursday that the company was consolidating management positions at its Sam’s Club division, but it stressed the move was not a cost-cutting effort but a means of improving service. The retailer here said it is eliminating five lower management positions while adding three new higher-paying assistant manager jobs.
