PORTLAND, Ore. — New Seasons Market here said Wednesday that Lisa Sedlar, the chain’s president and chief executive officer, plans to step down to start her own company.
“We deeply appreciate the vision and leadership Lisa has brought to the company and the community — resulting in hundreds of new jobs, a stronger regional food economy, and deepening New Seasons Market’s commitment to investing in the local community,” said Stan Amy, co-founder and board member, in a statement.
New Seasons, which operates a chain of 12 value-oriented stores in the Pacific Northwest offering a mix of natural, organic and conventional product, said Sedlar plans to launch a chain of health-oriented convenience stores.
Amy said New Seasons would be “the first investor” in her new concept. Details about the new company and the nature of New Seasons’ investment were not immediately available.
