COLTON, Calif. - Stater Bros. Markets has partnered with many local charities to help feed more than 60,000 people this Thanksgiving. Leading up to Thanksgiving, Stater Bros. assisted qualified organizations that feed the hungry by making a substantial contribution towards the purchase of turkeys, the supermarket reported last week. These organizations are located throughout the California communities served by Stater Bros., which include San Bernardino County, Riverside County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Diego County and Kern County. "The Stater Bros. 'family' of employees believes strongly in giving back to the communities we serve because we don't just do business in a community, we are part of the community," stated Jack H. Brown, chairman and chief executive officer. "We are glad to be able to assist so that those in need will have a more joyous Thanksgiving." Stater Bros. also donates over 2 million pounds of food and products to the Inland Empire Food Banks here annually. In addition, Stater Bros.' customers and employees contribute over $200,000 each year to the Food For All Anti-Hunger Program, which assists local charities.
