SAN ANTONIO -- During yesterday‘s Super Bowl, H.E. Butt Grocery here was scheduled to air a commercial in the Texas market with football great Emmitt Smith that kicked off the chain's "My H-E-B" campaign inviting H-E-B customers to create and star in their own TV commercials. From Feb. 4 through April 15, Texans will be able to create and upload their own "My H-E-B" commercial at www.heb.com. Customers can also enter their own creative writing scripts and graphics for a commercial idea. Following the close of the entry period, H-E-B customers will have the chance to vote for their favorite commercials online between May 7 and June 4. The top-rated spots will be aired in media markets across Texas throughout the year and be awarded prizes. "With this campaign, we hope to shine the spotlight on the true stars in H-E-B‘s success: our customers, and reward them for their show of creativity and loyalty," said Kate Rogers, H-E-B's director of advertising, in a statement.
