BANAGALORE, India - Supervalu‘s chief information officer Paul Singer was here this week to work on staffing for Supervalu Services India, an office the Minneapolis-based company is establishing to support its strategic IT initiatives in the U.S. “We are still in the early stages of this project, but anticipate we could hire as many as 150 associates in year one,” Supervalu spokeswoman Haley Meyer told SN via email. “The ongoing IT needs of the new Supervalu will play a role in determining this, though.” Supervalu announced last month that the SSI office will “reconfigure [Supervalu‘s] existing IT contractor base [in India] to transition work currently performed by third-party, India-based firms to help streamline processes and reduce the company‘s current contract resource expenses.” The SSI associates will live and work in India and be considered part of the Supervalu organization.
