Tesco Identifies Sites for First 6 Fresh & Easy Stores

Tesco USA has disclosed the six Southern California cities in which it will open its first six Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets on Nov. 8.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Tesco USA here has disclosed the six Southern California cities in which it will open its first six Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets on Nov. 8. They are Glassell Park/Eagle Rock in Los Angeles; Anaheim; West Covina; Arcadia; Hemit; and Upland. The company also said nearly 1,000 people applied for 170 positions at the six stores. Of those who were hired, more than 40% will be full-time employees; all employees will work more than 20 hours and will be eligible for medical, drug, dental and vision coverage; and more than 50% live within three miles of their store, reflecting the local nature of the stores.
