Shoppers in California and Nevada can continue to obtain rewards for theatre visits and at-home viewing

The Save Mart Cos. has extended its movie reward promotion which is offering shoppers the opportunity to earn credits that are redeemable for movie theater visits or at-home streaming access.
In the initiative with Fandango and VUDU, which is running through March 21, shoppers who spend $25 on select marked products in a single transaction will obtain the award, which has a $13 maximum value. Consumers then will have the option to receive a Fandango movie credit to see a current theater release or use the reward to stream any movie available on VUDU.
The promotion is active at Save Mart, Lucky, and FoodMaxx stores in California and Nevada. Participating brands, including Pepsi, Frito Lay, and Nature’s Own, will contain Fandango “Buy Me” tags.
VUDU offers access to more than 200,000 new releases and catalog movies and TV shows. Los Angeles-based Fandango Media, which owns VUDU, sells movie tickets via its website or through a mobile app.
The Save Mart Cos.’ promotion follows a similar scheme that launched in January and is its third movie initiative since 2021. While a spokesperson could not detail the success of the January program, Donovan Ford, senior vice president, store operations, for The Save Mart Cos., said in a statement that “movie rewards have been a favorite perk among our customers and has allowed us to offer an entertaining incentive to our shopping experience.”
The promotion limits rewards to four per household and shoppers must make their choices by April 30 and redeem the reward by May 31.
The participating banners are owned by Modesto, Calif.-based The Save Mart Cos. The Save Mart chain has 81 stores in California and Nevada; Lucky has 67 stores in the San Francisco Bay area; and FoodMaxx has 52 stores in California and Nevada.
