Totoritis Retires at AG-South; Alexander Named CEO
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Gerry Totoritis, president and chief executive officer of Associated Grocers of the South here, plans to retire effective Aug. 30, the cooperative wholesaler said.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Gerry Totoritis (pictured), president and chief executive officer of Associated Grocers of the South here, plans to retire effective Aug. 30, the cooperative wholesaler said.
Stan Alexander, currently executive vice president of sales, was named to succeed Totoritis as president and CEO.
In a letter to AG’s members, employees and supplier partners, Jack Howell, chairman of the board of AG, credited Totoritis with leading the organization “to accomplish major facility improvements and significant technological advancements that will enhance our operation and benefit our independent retailers into the future.”
“On behalf of our board of directors, we take great pride in expressing sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for Gerry’s dedicated commitment and outstanding professional leadership throughout the past 12 years,” Howell said.
He also welcomed Alexander, who has more than 40 years experience in the wholesale grocery industry. He previously held executive posts with Nash Finch, Roundy’s and Scrivner.
“Based on Stan’s extensive experience in our highly competitive market, we expect this to be a very smooth, seamless transition, as we all look forward to continued success,” Howell said.
AG serves more than 300 independent grocers in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.
