Weis Promotes Bailey to New Logistics Post

SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets has promoted Wayne Bailey to vice president of supply chain and logistics, the retailer here said Tuesday.

SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets has promoted Wayne Bailey to vice president of supply chain and logistics, the retailer here said Tuesday.

Prior to his promotion, Bailey was a regional vice president.

In this newly created position, Bailey will be responsible for overall inventory management related to sourcing and product procurement, distribution operations, transportation, and the development of processes and systems to improve the flow of product into the company’s distribution center and stores. He will oversee Joe Kleman, the company’s vice president of distribution, and report to Kurt Schertle, Weis Markets’ executive vice president of sales and merchandising.

Early in his Weis Markets career, Bailey worked in several store and field supervision positions. Over the past 15 years, he has worked in senior level positions in merchandising and store operations.
