SALISBURY, N.C. — During the first quarter, Food Lion here is testing Alert, a compliance management system from Delta Technology & Software, Morrisville, N.C., designed to facilitate product compliance and increase product quality and safety.

“As an organization, Food Lion is very focused on food safety and quality,” said Stephen Tracey, food safety manager for supply chain at Food Lion. “Following a product demonstration, we decided that Alert was a software solution that could meet our quality and compliance needs.”

The software updates staff, labs, and suppliers on potential quality and compliance issues, he noted. “Traditionally grocers like ourselves had to rely on paper based systems which can be time consuming and prone to error,” he said.
