Aldi fans will now be able to get their finds even faster.
The discount grocery retailer and Instacart on Thursday announced Aldi Express, a new Instacart-powered virtual convenience store, giving shoppers access to nearly 2,000 of the most-shopped Aldi items, delivered in as fast as 30 minutes.
Aldi Express convenience delivery is now available to shoppers from more than 2,100 Aldi locations across the country.
“We know our customers live hectic lives, and sometimes that means they don't have time to make it to the grocery store—even for a quick trip. Through Aldi Express, we're making shopping more convenient so you can satisfy a craving or get a missing ingredient in minutes," said Scott Patton, VP of national buying at Aldi, in a statement. "Together with Instacart, we'll continue to find ways to innovate and make the online grocery experience even more effortless and accessible."
Aldi began offering delivery services via Instacart in 2017 and now delivers from more than 2,200 Aldi stores. Instacart powers pickup for more than 1,500 Aldi stores nationwide. In 2018, the companies expanded their partnership to include alcohol delivery.
"We're proud to deepen our partnership with Aldi through the introduction of Aldi Express,” said Ryan Hamburger, VP of Retail at Instacart, in a statement.
Ranked as one of the fastest-growing grocers in the United States, Aldi’s rapid brick-and-mortar expansion shows no signs of slowing. The Batavia, Illinois-based discount grocer opened two new stores this week in North Canton, Ohio, and Fort Washington, Maryland.
“We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Fort Washington and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping,” said Jeff Baehr, Frederick regional VP for Aldi, in a statement.
The discount grocer is looking to add 120 new stores this year, bringing its store count nationwide to more than 2,400.
