Aldi opened two new stores Thursday in Delaware and Florida, part of the discount grocer’s ongoing, aggressive expansion plan that has included the addition of more than 1,000 new markets over the past decade.

As one of America's fastest-growing retailers, having opened and remodeled 139 locations in 2022, Aldi’s two newest locations are in Millsboro, Delaware, at 26684 Centerview Drive and Callaway, Florida, at 5500 East 7th Street.

“We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Millsboro and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping,” Jeff Baehr, Frederick regional VP for Aldi, said in a statement.

The discount grocer, which has held the top spot for price for six years running, according to the dunnhumby Retailer Preference Index Report, also announced on Thursday its partnership with DoorDash to continue its e-commerce expansion.

By enhancing its e-commerce capabilities, this new partnership brings same-day delivery of Aldi’s affordable staples and cult favorites from more than 2,100 Aldi locations nationwide.

“Since launching grocery in 2020, Aldi has been one of our consumers’ most highly requested grocers. We’re thrilled to welcome the beloved Aldi brand to DoorDash,” said Fuad Hannon, VP of new verticals at DoorDash, in a statement. “Our partnership with Aldi provides customers access to the retailer’s affordable staples and cult favorites with the speed and reliability of DoorDash. Additionally, consumers can consolidate all their shopping needs from fresh foods to household essentials on DoorDash as their one-stop shop.”
