Aldi will open four new stores in four different states on Thursday, including its first store in Miami proper, as the no-frills German discount grocery chain continues its rapid expansion pace.

The new locations are part of the company’s nationwide growth plan, which has seen more than 1,000 new Aldi store openings throughout the U.S. over the past decade. Aldi is looking to add 120 new stores this year, bringing its store count nationwide to more than 2,400.

On Thursday, Aldi will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the following new stores:

  • 3750 S. Dixie Highway, Miami, Florida

  • 2624 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, Ohio

  • 1715 E. Southern Ave., Tempe, Arizona

  • 818 S. St. Marys St., St. Marys, Pennsylvania

“We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Miami and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping,” said Chris Hewitt, Royal Palm Beach regional VP for Aldi. The discount grocery retailer now operates six Miami-Dade locations.

Looking to soften the blow of still-high grocery prices this summer, Aldi recently announced it is cutting prices on over 250 items. The new savings include items such as chicken tenders, granola, seafood and coffee, which are part of Aldi's Price Promise everyday-low price assortment. Aldi noted that the price cuts will provide more than $60 million in savings to shoppers.

Aldi, which ranked last year as one of the fastest-growing grocers in the United States, has also upped its game for delivery of its grocery staples and cult favorites, as last-mile logistics provider DoorDash partnered with the discount grocer to offer on-demand delivery to nearly all Aldi locations across 38 states.

“By partnering with DoorDash, we can conveniently bring our award-winning, fresh and affordable groceries to even more of our customers’ doors with the click of a button,” said Scott Patton, VP of national buying at Aldi. “Whether shopping for a weekly grocery haul or in need of a few extra ingredients for tonight’s dinner, our customers now have another way to shop Aldi for all their grocery needs.”

Founded in 1961, Aldi recently took the top spot as the most-trusted discount and small-format grocer, according to the 2023 Most Trusted Grocery Retailers in America list conducted by market research firm BrandSpark International in partnership with Winsight Grocery Business and Newsweek.
