Aldi’s store count keeps growing as it readies to open its first store in Blairsville, Georgia, on Thursday. The store will be located at 595 E. Highway and it comes online little more than a week after the retailer opened a new location in Tustin, California.

“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for five years running,” said Shaun O’Keefe, a regional vice president for Aldi, in a statement. “We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Blairsville and introduce local customers to a new, more-affordable way of shopping.”

As part of its new store opening, the first 100 customers will receive a gift card in the Aldi Golden Ticket gift card giveaway program. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card, the discount grocer said in a statement.

Next week, Aldi will open the doors to its relocated Brick, New Jersey, location at 780 NJ-70 West in Brick Township. The grocer will close the existing Brick store at 131 Van Zile Road on Sunday.

“We are excited to provide local shoppers a revamped and refreshed Aldi store designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier,” said Bob Grammer, a regional VP for Aldi, in a statement. “We are always looking out for the needs of our shoppers and decided to move our Brick store to allow more room for added fresh, high-quality products at affordable prices, which our loyal shoppers know and love.”

On Monday, Aldi cut prices on additional items as shoppers enter the holiday season. The new savings are an extension of the Aldi Price Promise, the grocer said in a statement.

“We realize that expenses add up quickly during the holidays, especially when you’re hosting overnight guests or multiple gatherings,” said Scott Patton, Aldi's VP of national buying. “With entertaining needs right around the corner, we reduced prices on foods that are great for pulling together an easy breakfast or charcuterie board to hold friends and family over before the big meal. We want our shoppers to know we are focused on giving them the best possible prices so they can worry less about their grocery bills and focus more on spending time with their loved ones.”

With 2,200 stores across 38 states, Aldi is on track to become the third-largest grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022, the Batavia, Illinois-based chain said.
