Florham Park, N.J. — BI-LO Supermarkets of Greenville, S.C. has selected KSS Retail as the grocer’s new provider of price modeling, forecasting and price optimization. BI-LO operates 207 stores across the Carolinas, Georgia and Tennessee.

PriceStrat is KSS Retail’s integrated software application that manages both regular and promotional pricing and enables retailers to model what-if pricing scenarios for both fresh and grocery products, facilitating pricing decisions that are more timely and effective in optimizing sales and value for customers.

“BI-LO is intently focused on serving our customers by delivering quality products and the value they expect,” said Mart Orr, Director of Pricing of BI-LO. “Our previous system could only manage regular price modeling, and limited our abilities with our pricing functions. With KSS Retail, we will have the ability to optimize both regular and promotional pricing together, providing us a more complete understanding of how our customers shop a category. The combined insight of regular and promotional prices will ensure that we are meeting the needs of our customers both today, and in the future.”

KSS Retail provides regular and promotional price optimization to leading retailers including Kroger, Raley’s, Sonae Portugal, Brookshire Brothers, McKesson, United Supermarkets, and many others.

“BI-LO has long been a proponent of price optimization, and we look forward to helping them enhance their capabilities by modeling regular and promotional pricing,” said Lance Jacobs, chief executive officer of KSS Retail. “PriceStrat will help provide BI-LO’s merchants a complete view of customer shopping insights, which will allow them to deliver pricing and promotions that best serve their customers. Our Retail clients have achieved great success with PriceStrat and we are confident that BI LO will accomplish the same.”
