Cubby’s Inc., which operates 38 convenience stores, quick-serve restaurants and supermarkets throughout Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota, has finalized its acquisition of Brady’s Meats & Foods in Fremont, Neb.

Brady’s Meats & Foods, a grocery/convenience store with a full-service meat department and gas station, has been owned by Jeff Alderson since 2006, according to a LinkedIn profile. With the acquisition, it will become Cubby’s seventh grocery store location.

“I am excited to bring Brady’s into the Cubby’s family. … We look forward to making it even better so that we can serve the needs of our customers,” De Lone Wilson, president of Cubby’s, said in a release. “Jeff Alderson has built a wonderful presence in Fremont, and we hope to continue in the tradition that he started and hopefully make it even more exciting for the people of Fremont.”

Omaha, Neb.-Cubby’s said it plans to redesign the location and add a Chester’s Chicken fried chicken quick-service restaurant, “in addition to a new foodservice concept.” Cubby’s will also brand the location with its partners at CENEX.

“Grocery is an important category for us as we grow the company, especially when it is a c-store/grocery hybrid,” said Mike Wilson, chief operating officer for Cubby’s. “This newest location allows us to expand our operations in Fremont as well as [test] new foodservice concepts so that we can continue to grow our business and diversify our portfolio.”
