Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets has signed on with Locai Solutions to streamline its e-commerce platform, including its application to enable multiformat fulfillment. The family-owned Caputo’s operates seven stores in the Chicago area, as well as an online shopping offering, and is now taking the next step with the launch of a new e-grocery website, which will be fully integrated with Locai’s Fulfillment Management System to streamline order fulfillment.

“As veterans of the e-grocery space, I trust the Locai team to bring the same level of excellence to our online experience as we offer in-store," said Robertino Presta, Caputo’s CEO. "The level of personalization in this platform I believe really takes online shopping to a new level.”

Among the highlights of the grocer’s new e-commerce platform is a meal planning solution center that facilitates a personalized shopping experience tailored to a customer’s cart items, past purchases, dietary preferences and more. The learning algorithm will suggest recipes and products to shoppers, taking into account sale items and favorite brands, and even scale ingredients based on portion size.

Locai’s fulfillment management system will also allow Caputo’s to operate a multiformat fulfillment model, enabling a variety of options for execution and delivery.

“We are excited to be able to use our platform to bring to life the fantastic product assortment Caputo’s offers in their stores, as well as drive operational efficiencies to their order fulfillment,” said Scott DeGraeve, Locai’s COO. “They have an exceptional reputation in the Chicagoland area, and we are excited to translate that to their digital offering.”

Caputo’s offers a unique assortment of homemade proprietary baked goods, specialty products sourced direct from Italy and a high-quality private label brand called La Bella Romana. Its focus on quality of perishables includes its signature Italian stuffed sausages.

Caputo’s new e-grocery site is slated to be live in April 2019.
