Los Angeles-based Erewhon Market is expanding its California footprint.

On Wednesday, the independent, family-owned organic grocer opened its ninth location, in Culver City, California.

Located at 9300 Culver Boulevard, the new Erewhon Market, leased by Kennedy Wilson Brokerage and Hackman Capital, is the grocer’s second-largest location at 14,000 square feet and is within the 1.16-acre Culver Steps Project, a 120,000-square-foot mixed-use development.

"We are excited and glad to be part of Culver City," said Tony Antoci, CEO of Erewhon, in a statement. "We are proud to serve this community and to extend our ethos as a company to a city that is innovative, environmentally conscious and growing."

Holding both Certified B Corp and Certified Organic Retailer accreditations, the grocery store chain supports sustainability, local farmers, biodynamic practices and regenerative farming.

The upscale, trendy grocery store chain said it prides itself on offering shoppers a “holistic shopping experience” and the new store features Art Deco-inspired decorative accents, a large indoor seating area and the grocery chain’s popular Tonic Bar.

Looking to broaden its Southern California footprint even further, Erewhon Market will open its 10th location in Pasadena later this year, the company announced.
