AG NEW ENGLAND TAPS O'HARA FOR RETAIL PROGRAMS

New England here last week has hired Curt O'Hara as director, retail programs. In this newly created position, O'Hara is responsible for the sale and development of new and existing retail marketing, merchandising and purchasing programs. He will report to Mike Violette, senior vice president, sales and retail development. O'Hara has a 23-year career in grocery merchandising. He comes to AG New England from J&T Enterprises, an operator of independent supermarkets in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, where he served as merchandising manager.

GMA NAMES GREER DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

WASHINGTON -- Grocery Manufacturers of America said Naomi S. Greer has been named director of communications. Greer will report to Richard Martin, vice president of communications, GMA. She most recently was director of communications at the American Gaming Association. At GMA, Greer succeeds Mike Diegel, who left to join the National Federation of Independent Businesses, also based here.
