Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is partnering with Bags 4 My Cause, an organization that partners with retailers to develop reusable shopping bags to support local nonprofit causes.

As part of the program, Midwest shoppers who purchase the Fresh Thyme Giving Bag for $2.99 will have the option to direct $1 to a local nonprofit by logging onto the Fresh Thyme Giving Bag Program website.

As of February 2018, Bags 4 My Cause had raised more than $650,000 to support over 4,000 local nonprofits across the U.S. Chris Sherrell, CEO of Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, said in a statement that the program allows shoppers to both protect the environment by purchasing a reusable shopping bag and give to a cause that matters to them.

“We’re honored to work with an organization that shares our mission to be a good neighbor in the communities we serve—giving back is a large part of that commitment," he said.

If a shopper does not choose a local nonprofit within seven days of purchase, the donation will automatically go to the nonprofit designated by the location’s regional manager and store leadership team.
