Landover, Md.-based Giant Food will open the doors to a new store in Manassas, Va., at 6 a.m. on Nov. 19, the grocer announced Tuesday.

The nearly 60,000-square-foot store is located at 10864 Sudley Manor Dr. in Manassas; it replaces the Giant Food at 8025 Sudley Road that will close Nov. 18. The new location will open with a large fresh and organic produce section, an expanded gourmet cheese selection, and full-service deli, meat, seafood and floral departments. The location also features a Starbucks and a PNC Bank.

An in-store Giant Pharmacy will offer COVID-19 vaccines and booster doses, help from pharmacists in selecting appropriate over-the-counter and prescription medications, and other pharmacy services. Licensed nutritionists also will be available for free online and over-the-phone consultations.

Online ordering for pickup or delivery is available at giantfood.com and through the Giant Food mobile app.

"Giant has had a presence in Prince William County since 1961, and we are excited to bring local Manassas residents a brand-new location with the best offerings and amenities," Giant Food President Ira Kress said in a statement. "Every department in this new store is designed to deliver the best variety and quality to our customers."

Giant Food, an Ahold Delhaize brand, was founded in 1936 and operates 164 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. Last week, the company welcomed shoppers into a freshly remodeled, 43,000-square-foot store in Fort Washington, Md.
