Emeryville, Calif.-based Grocery Outlet is expanding its Pennsylvania footprint. The  extreme-value grocery retailer opened its newest location on April 28 at 561 S. Broad St. in Lansdale.

Grocery Outlet said the new store, which will create nearly 25 new jobs in the community, offers savings on name-brand, high-quality merchandise for its shoppers.

“Grocery Outlet offers the same trusted brands as traditional grocery stores, but at lower prices. Its buyers scour the country to find the top manufacturers with excess inventory and seasonal closeouts so Grocery Outlet can offer ‘wow savings’ on thousands of name-brand products at significantly lower prices,” the retailer said in a statement.

Independently operated by local families who are committed to supporting their communities, Lansdale Grocery Outlet independent operators Todd Orr and Claudia Aguayo said, “We are overjoyed to be a part of the Lansdale community and be able to provide big savings on quality groceries. This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives us the ability to grow our business, create new jobs and more importantly, give back to our local community.”

Orr and Aguayo presented a $1,000 donation to Manna on Main Street, whose mission is to end hunger in the North Penn region by providing food, fulfilling social service and education needs, and conducting community outreach. They also donated $500 to the North Penn School District the grocer said in a statement.

Owned by independent operators based in the communities they serve, Grocery Outlet offers fresh produce, meat, deli and dairy, along with natural and organic choices. It also carries health and beauty care, as well as seasonal items.
