A new Hannaford Supermarkets and pharmacy will open on Saturday in Scarborough, Maine, the East Coast-based grocery retailer announced on Tuesday.

The 58,000-square-foot store, located at the intersection of Payne Road and Route 114, is the Ahold Delhaize banner’s 187th store in its portfolio, including 66 locations in Maine.

The store, which will employ close to 140 full- and part-time associates, is the second location in Scarborough.

The new store will feature Hannaford To Go grocery pickup and delivery, nearly 20 self-checkout registers and a full-service pharmacy.

Grab-and-go meals, a hot and cold foods bar, and Hannaford’s store brands such as Taste of Inspirations, Hannaford and Nature’s Promise will also be available, as well as a variety of products from local farmers.

“All of us at Hannaford are tremendously excited to make our high-quality, fresh food and produce; convenient services such as Hannaford To Go; outstanding customer service; and everyday low prices available to more shoppers in the Scarborough area,” said Hannaford Supermarkets Vice President of Retail Operations Todd Bullen in a statement.

Hannaford, which was founded in Portland, Maine in 1883, said it will celebrate the grand opening of the new store with a variety of special giveaways and offers for shoppers throughout the month of October, including the opportunity to enter-to-win a $1,000 Hannaford gift card.
