HMart to open new store on Tuesday in Long Island City, New York

Specialty Grocer HMart will open its newest store in Long Island City in Queens, New York, on Tuesday, according to the Korean grocer’s website. The new store will be located at 34-51 48th Street and will feature fresh produce, meat, seafood, Asian groceries and housewares. 

The Asian supermarket chain will open its doors to its newest location at 10 a.m. Shoppers who visit the store during the grand opening and sign up for a new smart card will get a free thermos mug and HMart 2023 Calendar, the grocer said.

A variety of giveaways will be offered as part of the new store’s grand-opening event. Customers who hit spending levels of $30, $60 or $90 can choose one, two or three free gifts, respectively, from an assortment of household essentials. 

The Lyndhurst, New Jersey-based specialty grocer currently has 11 locations in New York and nearly 100 Asian markets around the country. The retail chain was founded in 1982.
