West Des Moines, Iowa-based supermarket chain Hy-Vee is ready to play matchmaker, as reported by the Des Moines Register. The regional grocery store will start filming a dating show on Helpful Smiles TV network (HSTV), Hy-Vee’s digital streaming platform.

The newspaper reported that the first season of the show, "Love at First Bite," includes eight episodes around 10 minutes long and that different couples will be cast in each episode.

It was also reported that contestants on the dating show will go on a blind date at a Hy-Vee store, where they must shop for Hy-Vee groceries that will be used to prepare a meal together, according to Sara Canady, VP of HSTV.

The newspaper reported that the digital streaming platform feature will be produced by Kristian Day, who had previously worked on the production team for "The Bachelor."

In a Facebook post, Helpful Smiles TV asked its followers, if “you're single and ready to find the recipe for love, this is your chance to get cast on a brand-new dating show. We'll pair you with an eligible date, and the two of you will go grocery shopping, prepare and enjoy a meal together. It just might end up being Love at First Bite.”

Hy-Vee Inc. is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 285 retail stores across eight states in the Midwest, with sales of more than $12 billion annually. The company employs more than 91,000 employees.
