The coronavirus pandemic has made bedfellows of grocers and restauranteurs, and two iconic Kansas City brands have teamed up to help each other out in two different ways.

Price Chopper stores now offer Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue’s acclaimed menu items in store, such as family-style BBQ meals to go, including 1 pound of pulled pork, one slab of ribs and one side of beans for $27.99.

This move is in addition to Price Chopper hiring 300 Jack Stack employees temporarily until in-person dining at restaurants is allowed again.

“Kansas City is all about lending a helping hand to your neighbors,” said Casie Broker, chief marketing officer of Overland Park, Kan.-based Price Chopper Enterprises. “Price Chopper is proud to serve Jack Stack’s amazing barbecue and help keep their staff employed during these difficult times.”

Taylor Dorman and Keaton Dorman, managing partners of Fiorella’s Jack Stack and fourth-generation family owners, helped develop the grocery partnership.

“We knew Price Chopper would be a perfect fit for our brand because they’re also a local, family-owned operation,” said Keaton Dorman.

“Our goal was to create a win-win for Price Chopper, for our employees and for our community,” added Taylor Dorman.
