Kroger revealed that it will open a second location of its stand-alone restaurant concept Kitchen 1883 after finding success in its first location opened in Union, Ky., late last year.

The new Kitchen 1883 will be located in Anderson Township, a neighborhood in Kroger's hometown of greater Cincinnati. Slated to open this fall, the concept will feature a patio and will introduce new local dishes.

Daniel Hammer, Kroger's VP of culinary development and new business, said in a statement that since the pilot opening five months ago, the retailer has "discovered new ideas that will help to shape our future dining concepts and in-store fresh food experiences."

"With Kitchen 1883, our vision is to create a gathering place that offers a casual atmosphere for guests to relax and experience food," he said.

Kitchen 1883 features a made-from-scratch menu inspired by American and international flavors, and also specializes in hand-crafted cocktails.
