Furthering its rapid expansion, natural and organic foods grocer Lucky’s Market has revealed its plans to launch six new stores in the Sunshine State.

Reporting solid growth, the retailer has signed leases for additional store locations in Florida, including two stores in Boca Raton as well as locations in Kendall, Bradenton, Brandon and Clearwater—all of which are slated to open in the next 18 to 24 months.

Touting fresh, local and specialty offerings, Boulder, Colo.-based Lucky’s, growing behind a strategic investment from Kroger Co., has been aggressively targeting the Florida market with eyes on a niche natural- and organic-focused consumer base in a market that is largely populated with conventional grocers. Of its current store footprint, 15 of Lucky’s 33 stores are located in Florida.

The retailer in October opened two new central Florida locations in Winter Park and Hunter’s Creek, and had previously revealed plans to open several new stores in the following cities: Oakleaf, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Naples, Fort Myers, Port Charlotte, Venice, Dania Beach, downtown Orlando, Vineland, Colonial Landing, Lake Mary, Port St. Lucie, Pensacola and Ormond Beach.

Earlier this year, Lucky’s also announced plans to open two new stores in its home state of Colorado.

Founded in 2003 with a mission to offer high-quality products at affordable prices, with top-notch customer service, Lucky’s specialty-focused concept features in-house smoked bacon, house-made sausages, fresh seafood, a vast produce department including local varieties and an in-house butcher offering what the retailer calls “never ever” meats, meaning those that have never been treated with antibiotics or artificial growth hormones.

With strong culinary roots, the retailer also provides ready-to-eat meals made in-house from scratch daily, as well as fresh grab-and-go sushi options, hot ramen bars and a expansive selection of international specialty cheeses. Other highlights include juice bars, bulk foods, apothecary departments, beer and wine, in-store cafe areas and the retailer’s “Sip ‘n “Stroll” program, whereby customers can select a $2 pint of local beer or a $3 glass of wine to enjoy while they shop.

Lucky’s currently operates stores in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Ohio and Wyoming, with plans for continued expansion.
