Publix Super Markets is having a very busy week with four new store openings, proving its growth is far from slowing.

On Wednesday, the employee-owned grocer opened three new stores,  including a 46,811-square-foot supermarket at Merganser Commons at Dogwood Estates at 5854 Dogwood Dr. in Milton, Florida, Publix told WGBTwo stores outside of Florida that opened are located at 24540 John T. Reid Parkway in Scottsboro, Alabama, and at Marketplace at the Mill located at 136 Sapwood Rd. in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

On Thursday, Publix opened a 53,785-square-foot supermarket at the Shoppes of Cutler Bay at 20951 Old Cutler Rd. in Cutler Bay, Florida, the grocer said.

Publix, which is employee-owned, saw sales climb 9.2%, to $13 billion, during the third quarter. “Unfortunately, the stock market continues to be a challenge,” Publix CEO Todd Jones said in a statement this week.

On the upside, the Lakeland, Florida-based grocery retailer has opened 12 new stores since July, the grocer said.

“We are excited to bring Publix to our neighbors in Milton,” said Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager, in a statement. “We look forward to providing premier service and quality products to new and existing customers, many of whom will now enjoy having their Publix closer to home.”

The Publix stores offer departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and fresh produce, as well as a full-service bakery and pharmacy, the grocer said.

The new store locations will also offer contactless pay options, grocery delivery via Instacart and pharmacy delivery.

Publix is one of the country's largest employee-owned grocers, with more than 225,000 associates on its payroll.
