Lakeland, Florida-based Publix opened its newest store on Thursday at Clermont Town Center in Clermont, Florida, just west of Orlando. The 29,486-square-foot store, located at 1720 East Highway 50 in Clermont, is the grocery retailer’s latest in a string of store openings in Florida, Publix said.

“We are pleased to open the doors of our newest Publix at Clermont Town Center,” said Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager, in a statement. “We look forward to providing premier service and quality products to new and existing customers in this growing market.”

The new Publix will offer departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, meat and fresh produce, as well as a full-service bakery, deli, pharmacy and a full-service seafood department with fresh whole fish and fillets. The store will also offer shoppers contactless pay options and grocery delivery, powered by Instacart, and pharmacy delivery, Publix said in a statement.

As one of the largest employee-owned grocers in the U.S., Publix employs more than 230,000 associates. Publix currently operates 1,306 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.

The grocery retailer garnered a top spot on Wednesday from Fortune, as Publix was named on the 2022 Best Workplaces in Retail list by the publication—ranking No. 5 of the 20 best large retail workplaces. The company’s dedication to service, welcoming culture, desire to give back and support for associates to take time off when they need it are some of the reasons employees enjoy working for the company, Publix associates said.

“We’ve made an effort to stay true to the philosophies Publix was founded on 92 years ago,” said Publix Director of Communications Maria Brous in a statement. “It’s gratifying to be recognized on this list because the results are directly from the feedback and experiences of our associates.”
