Sam’s Club Expands Instacart Delivery Nationwide

Building on its initial launch in February, Walmart’s Sam’s Club division is expanding same-day grocery delivery via Instacart to more than 90 new markets by the end of October and nearly half of all Sam’s Club stores across the nation by the end of 2018.

Customers in nearly 1,000 new ZIP codes and more than 100 new clubs will be able to shop Sam’s Club without a membership while still receiving member-only pricing and the option for same-day delivery in as little as one hour.

The expansion follows the companies’ successful pilot programs in Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas; Austin, Texas; and St. Louis, as well as recent launches in San Diego, Calif., and Los Angeles.

As Instacart continues to grow nationwide, the company also recently announced that it has raised an additional $600 million in funding to support further expansion and raise awareness of its services.

In addition to food and groceries, Sam’s Club is also offering Instacart delivery of small appliances, gifts and household items—like pillows and towels—for the upcoming holiday season.

“Our members love this service, so we decided to give the gift of fast, easy home delivery to more members just in time for the holidays,” said Sachin Padwal, Sam’s Club’s VP of product management. “To help the holidays run smooth, we’re offering a wide product assortment available on Instacart so shoppers can now get household goods delivered.”
