Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market is opening two new stores Friday, one in San Antonio, Texas, and the other in Rancho Cordova, California. The publicly traded supermarket chain late last month celebrated the opening of two new stores, one in Tucson, Arizona, and the other in Palmdale, California.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sprouts to Rancho Cordova’s new Stone Creek Village shopping center,” said Rancho Cordova Mayor Donald Terry in a statement. “Sprouts’ well-known reputation for being both a grocery store that specializes in fresh, local produce and one that has a passion for being involved in their communities makes them a great new business and community partner in our city.”
The store openings at both locations will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting, product samples, and 20% off purchase discount throughout opening weekend, the company said.
The Rancho Cordova store, located at 10846 Bear Hollow Dr., will feature local products from Capay Organics Farm, George Perry and Sons, and Gotham Greens and others.
As part of the grocer’s commitment to the community, the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation will award $50,000 to Soil Born Farms, a nonprofit farm that promotes urban agriculture in Rancho Cordova.
Both stores, through the grocer’s Sprouts’ Food Rescue program, will donate groceries to local food banks.
The San Antonio store, located at 9702 State Highway 151, will feature local products from Chip Berry Produce, South Tex Organics, True Harvest Farms and more.
Last week, the grocer expanded its partnership with last-mile logistics provider DoorDash in close to 380 stores nationwide, beginning with Arizona, the grocery retailer said in a statement.
Sprouts employs nearly 31,000 team members and operates close to 380 stores in 23 states nationwide.
