Stater Bros. Markets has promoted Michael Reed to SVP of real estate and development following the recent retirement of Scott Limbacher, who was with the company for 44 years.
Reed brings with him more than 18 years of retail real estate and development experience, including five years with Stater Bros., where he was senior director of real estate and, most recently, VP of real estate, in which he oversaw the company’s real estate and property management divisions.

In his new role, Reed will continue to oversee these divisions as well as the company’s refrigeration and maintenance departments and in-house construction company, Stater Bros. Development Inc. He will report directly to Stater Bros. President George Frahm.
“Mike is a well-respected and valuable member of our Stater Bros. ‘Family,’” Frahm said in a statement. “His proven leadership and deep knowledge of the retail real estate and commercial development environment will continue to be instrumental to the company’s success.”
Reed graduated from Boise State University with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance. He sits on the board of directors for the Air Conditioning Contractors Association and is a trustee for the Inland Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trust Fund. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. is the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California and operates 172 locations.
