Following its introduction of delivery via Instacart in 2017, Tops Friendly Markets is expanding its convenience e-commerce services with the launch of grocery pickup at three Western New York locations.
Beginning Oct. 7, Tops customers will be able to order their groceries online via Tops’ Instacart platform, select their preferred pickup time frame and check out online. When the order is ready, customers will receive a text message including pickup instructions that indicate their designated parking spot. Upon arrival, customers are then instructed to text back “here” to alert store associates to deliver the order to their car.
The service will be available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at its Western New York stores at 4250 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg; 2351 Maple Road, Williamsville; and 890 Young St., Tonawanda.
“This is yet another exciting expansion in Tops pickup and delivery services,” Jill Sirica, manager of digital marketing for Williamsville, N.Y.-based Tops Friendly Markets, said in a statement. “We strive to continue to make our consumer experience easier and more convenient, and we are excited to bring this next evolution of service to our customers.”
The new grocery pickup service features thousands of certified organic, gluten-free and minimally processed products, as well as fresh meat, seafood, produce and natural items.
To celebrate the launch of the new service, Tops is offering a $15 discount for first-time Instacart users via the promo code “TopsFall.” The offer is valid through Dec. 1.
Tops first introduced its Instacart-powered delivery service in fall 2017 to more than 125 of its locations.
