Wegmans revealed the grand opening date of its long-anticipated Lancaster, Pa., store, and will bring its Burger Bar concept to the state for the first time.

The new store, which Store Manager Jimmy Bellis called "years in the making," will open its doors on Sept. 23; it will employ 475 people in full- and part-time jobs.

“With hiring and training well underway, we’re thrilled to begin the countdown to Sept. 23,” Bellis said.

The 120,000 square-foot supermarket at The Crossings at Conestoga Creek in Manheim Township will also feature indoor and outdoor seating for up to 300 people and a high volume of organic offerings.

Wegmans' Burger Bar will now have 12 locations in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland and Virginia, as well as the premier Pennsylvania location with the addition of the new store. Along with burgers, the family-friendly casual restaurant concept also serves salads, sandwiches, soups, sides and milkshakes.

“We’re grateful to the Lancaster community for welcoming Wegmans with open arms and are eager to begin serving customers here," Bellis added.
