Wegmans has ratified a five-year agreement ratified with members of Teamsters Local 118 employed in the Wegmans general merchandise warehouse in Rochester, N.Y.

The ratified agreement provides for wage increases of 16.5% over the contract term, increased night shift differentials and a $500 ratification bonus, according to Teamsters officials, as well as improved language with respect to "job bidding, vacations, rules, regulations and other areas."

While the contract applies only to those working in the merchandise warehouse at this time, separate nogotiations for the grocery and transportation divisions are set for next year.

"We are very pleased with the progress made in many areas of this new agreement," said Local 118 Business Agent Paul Hogle. "Reaching this five-year deal with the company underscores the company commitment to maintain general merchandise warehouse operations in the Rochester area."
