WGB Seeking 2019 ‘Remarkable Independents’ Nominations

Nominations are now open for Winsight Grocery Business’ annual Remarkable Independents awards program, which will recognize the most influential grocers in the nation in its February 2019 print issue, as well as throughout the month of February on its website and social networks.

Remarkable Independents nominations can be submitted individually by store owners/store management, wholesalers/distributors or allied supply chain partners in the following categories:

“The mission of our Remarkable Independents recognition program aims to shine a well-deserved spotlight on local grocers who go the extra mile, day in and day out, to engage and serve their neighbors with a commitment to service, quality, value and integrity,” said WGB’s VP of Grocery Content Meg Major. “In addition, we are also proud to recognize the integral role independent grocery retailers play in their communities as great places to work, gather and give back.”

WGB and CART, along with presenting sponsors, will host a celebratory reception and awards presentation ceremony for its 2019 Remarkable Independents’ honorees at the National Grocers Association (NGA) Show at the San Diego Convention Center at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in Room 25A.

The nomination process is fast and easy via the online entry form here. All nominee information will be kept confidential. Information furnished on entry forms will be used to judge applicants and will also serve as the basis of the Remarkable Independents profiles in WGB’s February 2019 issue.
