Raley’s Launches New Meal Kit Line

With a mission to enhances its fresh and convenience offerings, Raley’s Family of Fine Stores has introduced a new line of chef-created meal kits, including full kits, quick kits, creative kits, sides and meal components.

Developed by Raley’s culinary innovation manager and Chef Evelyn Miliate, the subscription-free meal kits are seasonally inspired, with recipes rotating quarterly; they are made with clean ingredients and high-quality produce and meat. The recipes were designed to be easy to follow and ensure flexibility, allowing customers to experience cooking a fresh meal by following the recipes’ instructions or exploring various components.

“We want to be the destination for our customers looking for a healthy, home-cooked meal,” Miliate said in a statement. “Fresh Kits are an affordable solution to dinner that customers can trust. The kits include high-quality ingredients and offer great variety so your family doesn’t get bored with the same recipes.”

According to Nielsen, more than 50% of shoppers want to be able to purchase components separately and build their meal, while an estimated 70% of shoppers want to try new recipes and new foods. With fresh food, health and nutrition at top of mind, Raley’s new meal kit line provides customers dinner solutions in four various ways:

  • Meal Kits include all components to make a full meal for two to four people. Ranging from $16.99 to $19.99, the line features six options: vegetarian curry, chicken with red wine sauce, chicken tarragon, butter chicken, steak with peppercorn sauce and salmon with cilantro yogurt sauce.

  • Quick Kits come with precut vegetables and cooked chicken to offer a fast meal solution for four people. Priced at $14.99 each, quick kits are available in three varieties: mole enchiladas, Greek-style pasta and sage butter gnocchi. Consumers have the option of pairing each with a fresh rotisserie chicken.

  • Steamable Rotisserie Sides are specifically designed to pair with a grab-and-go rotisserie chicken. Ranging from $3.99 to $4.99, the components feature nine sauces, eight whole grains and starches, eight vegetables and meat that is freshly prepared by Raley’s in-house butcher.

  • Creative Kits offer flexible preparation options including several combinations of sauces, starches and vegetables. The four steamable sides, each $4.99, are broccoli parmesan, green beans with parmesan, Mexican-style vegetables and Italian-style vegetables.

Raley’s new meal kits serve as an extension of the retailer’s mission to enhance the customer experience via personalization, health and convenience. The line is available in-store and online, with pickup and delivery options.
