SPOKANE, Wash. — Cheerleaders for the Seattle Seahawks teamed up with Rosauers, Chelan Fresh and a local radio station to encourage kids to eat healthy and stay active here through the National Football League's "Fuel Up to Play 60," nutrition and physical activity program.

When the NFL, the National Dairy Council and the U.S. Department of Agriculture teamed up to fight childhood obesity, their efforts were directed primarily at schools. Chelan Fresh Director of Marketing Terry Braithwaite has been working to spread the program to retail as well, setting up test marketing initiatives in supermarket produce departments in Florida, Colorado and Washington.
