Diversified Names Kosherfest 2007 Best New Product Winners

PORTLAND, Maine — Mikee Shiitaki Teriyaki was awarded the titles of Best in Show and Best New Savory Condiment, Spice, Sauce, Oil, Vinegar or Dressing at the Kosherfest 2007 New Products Competition. Winners in 15 separate kosher food and beverage categories were chosen by a panel of judges that included representatives from Hannaford Bros. and Tree of Life, among others. Quality Frozen Foods’ Kids Pizza Pouches won the Best New Cheese or Dairy category, while Shabtai Gourmet’s Marzipan Sushi took the prize in the Best New Dessert, Candies, Cookies, or Crackers group. Elite Naturel Honeydew Melon Juice was named Best New Kosher Organic Product, and Rimon Pomegranate Dessert Wine was named Best New Wine, Beer or Spirit. “This year was particularly competitive, with a number of exceptional products competing,” said Brian Randall, group vice president of Diversified Business Communications, in a statement. Diversified is co-producer of Kosherfest, one of its three Cultural Food New York events. Cultural Food New York is the new umbrella brand name for the food and beverage trade exposition that will showcase kosher, Hispanic and Asian foods on Nov. 11-12 in New York City.
