Gallery: Mariano’s opens largest store yet

Mariano’s Fresh Market has opened an 80,000-square-foot, two-story supermarket in the Ravenswood area on Chicago’s North Side. Among the amenities at the fast-growing chain’s largest location are a wine bar, a Todds BBQ restaurant, live music, indoor and outdoor seating areas and a view of the Chicago skyline from the second-floor windows, according to local reports. It is the 20th store in the chain, which is owned by Milwaukee-based Roundy’s. The Ravenswood store is part of new condo and townhouse development, and is not one of the 11 former Dominick’s locations Roundy’s acquired in the market.
