DALLAS — GS1 US, Lawrenceville, N.J., and Food Marketing Institute, Arlington, Va., said yesterday that they have developed the Product Recall Collaboration Zone, an online tool developed using best practices and Food and Drug Administration guidelines, to facilitate and standardize industry recall notifications among trading partners. The new recall traceability solution will be unveiled on June 10 at the U Connect Conference at the Gaylord Texan here. It will allow trading partners to initiate, target, deliver and receive recalls immediately through a single portal. “The Product Recall Collaboration Zone represents a significant step forward in managing product recalls and voluntary withdrawals in an efficient, timely manner consistent with industry best practices,” said Bob Noe, senior vice president, GS1 US, in a statement.
