VALUE-PRICED CLEANING

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Clean Ones Premium line of private-label household cleaning gloves is now available in a “Playtex-style” box this winter, Clean Ones said. Previously, the gloves have been available in bags with a “Compare to Playtex” flag. Clean Ones provides gloves through private-label, Clean Ones-branded and combination programs. “Consumers get a national-brand equivalent product at a much better value and retailers don't have to compromise on the quality of the items they put their names on,” said Jennifer Fritz, product and marketing manager for Clean Ones. Suggested retail price is $2.29.

WHERE CREDIT'S DUE

STAMFORD, Conn. — By Kids For Kids will bring the spending power of MasterCard to kids through a licensing agreement with ECOM Financial Corp., Stuart, Fla. Beginning this year, the By Kids For Kids MasterCard gift card will be available with pre-loaded amounts of $25, $50 or $100 and will include promotional incentives from participating retailers. Inventor Scott Barnhill first created the “Security One” card in 2001 when he was 9 years old. His invention loaded the magnetic strips of several cards onto one card and this technology will be incorporated into the new MasterCard, allowing multiple retail promotions to all exist on one card.
