A NEIGHBOR TO WATCH

t's going to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood with the release of a special commemorative edition of the January 2004 PBS special "Fred Rogers: America's Favorite Neighbor." The release will be available on DVD and VHS on Sept. 28. It will be supported by a national print, radio and TV campaign; a satellite media tour featuring Fred Rogers' wife; and personal appearances by David Newell, a.k.a Mr. McFeely, who will be taking part in running the Mister Rogers Neighborhood Sweater Drive. During the Sweater Drive, members of the community are asked to donate sweaters and other clothing. The release comes with a suggested retail price of $19.95 for both the DVD and the double volume VHS set.

ROCK SOLID

Santa Monica, CALIF. -- "Walking Tall" marches its way into stores on DVD and VHS on Sep. 28th. MGM Home Entertainment here will support the release with a $6 million marketing campaign, including television, print, online advertising and cross trailering on other MGM releases. Based on a true story and starring The Rock, the movie is about a retired U.S. Special Forces soldier who returns to his hometown and finds it overrun with crime, drugs and violence. The release comes with a suggested retail price of $27.98 on DVD and $33.00 on VHS.

SCENT-SATIONAL SURROUNDINGS

Cincinnati -- Procter & Gamble here surrounds consumers with scent-sational experiences with the launch of Scentstories by Febreze. Scentstories are discs that release scents when played like music CD on a specially designed disc player. The launch is supported by a marketing partnership with singer Shania Twain . Twain's hit "Forever and For Always" is featured in the Scentstories television ads; she will perform a new yet-to-be-released duet for radio ads; and she stars in the upcoming ads. The suggested retail price is $34.99 for the starter kit, which includes the disc player and the "exploring a mountain trail" disc. Other individual discs have a SRP of $5.99.
