Included in the promotion are two-disc special editions of "Bringing Up Baby" and "The Philadelphia Story," starring Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant, as well as releases of "Libeled Lady," "To Be or Not To Be," "Dinner at Eight" and "Stage Door." The six films included in the collection will be supported by print advertising, online and radio support, and they will be featured in the Turner Classic Movie News shown on the network during March. In addition, the cross promotion of titles will include mentions of the DVDs during film showings on TCM, and ads in the network's "Now Playing Guide" sent to 100,000 paying subscribers. "Bringing Up Baby" and "The Philadelphia Story" will have a suggested retail price of $26.99 on DVD when they are released on March 1. The single titles have a SRP of $19.97. Pre-book for all the titles is Feb. 1.
'MADAGASCAR' MADNESS
SPOKANE, Wash. -- To tame the wilds of "Madagascar" in the summer of 2005, Zak Designs here will introduce a branded line of "Madagascar" dinnerware, drinkware and lunch kits featuring the DreamWorks animated feature. Kids will have several options for taking the animals of "Madagascar" home. Characters from the movie will appear on plates, bowls, drinkware, novelty drinkware products and an insulated lunch kit. The product line will be available in April.
'LOVE' IS IN THE AIR
CENTURY CITY, Calif. -- "Love's Enduring Promise" will be supported by a targeted advertising campaign when it is released by Fox Home Entertainment this winter. Based on a best-selling book of the same name, the family-friendly film is the sequel to "Love Comes Softly," the highest-rated movie ever to air on the Hallmark Channel. "Love's Enduring Promise" will be featured in advertising on the Hallmark and Lifetime television networks, print advertising in women's magazines, a direct-mail program to Christian households, and a publicity campaign. "Love's Enduring Promise" also aired on the Hallmark channel over Thanksgiving 2004. Pre-book for "Love's Enduring Promise" is Jan. 26, and it streets on Feb. 22. The release comes with a suggested retail price of $19.98 on DVD and $12.98 on VHS.
